Pompous! I admire the original poster for getting called pompous, as a lady it’s pretty hard.
Much like when coworkers call me an asshole.
But yeah, it’s fucking infuriating. Gendered language is buried so deep in us that you don’t even understand the mistake until you’ve been burned for years over it.
I wish I had an original comment or insight but ugh, I don’t.
(except now, on year four with a corporate job I’m getting pretty good at my masculine voice, but am completely incapable of sending flirtatious texts or communicating in straight lady voice. One cannot win.)
